Message: I have a cuttie Pembroke Welch Corgi and I love your site! Zippy and my dog Sally look very alike. I’m only twelve, but I’m very fond of corgi’s. My Aunt and me, us and my mom go to the corgi fun fair’s every year for now on. I’ve had my fluffed but cuttie and I’ve already completely and fully have fallen in love with her! Your vidio of Zippy and the bug reminded me of my Sally so much.

Message: Wow. What a great web page. Zippy is so cute. We were blessed with our first Corgi in Dec ’04. Her name is “Muffin”. She is a Tri color. She has been a blast. She shares our household with my son & daughter. Her best friend is our other pet, “Buster” a minature weinnie dog. They love to chase and play with each other. She loves to talk. Thanks for your wonderful page. God bless Zippy and your family.

Message: Zippy, we saw a squirrel today! It was in our yard and I chased it up into a tall Oak tree. Do you have any squirrel chasing advice? This was my first chase and boy was it fun! Our mom got bored watching Pete and I watch the squirrel sit in the tree so she made us come back inside. Something about it being 95 degrees or something, harumph.
Zippy responds: My squirrel-chasing advice: Leave the ones that are bigger than you alone.

Message: Oh man Zip! I gotta tell you, fellow food hound, about the BIG ONE that GOT AWAY. I nearly had it. Dagnabit! I was that close. If it weren’t for my terrible ‘poker gait’ I’d have had the biggest food jackpot of my life. (Bigger perhaps than the wrapped garlic bread left on a low table our neighbors foolishly thought I wouldn’t be able to smell... I was on my solo kitchen beat and incredible as it might seem, I found a big half block of cheddar cheese nearly hidden by the refrigerator door. It was over a pound! It had that orange plastic wrapping stuff on it, but easily punctured and were my jaws stuffed!! But sadly, the big haul was wrested away rather dramatically when I was ‘discovered’. I should have sauntered through the living room in a normal fashion instead of sliding around the sides of the room and behind furniture like the sneak I am when a food situation warrants. Dead give away apparently. Sigh. It’s a tragedy certainly, but it serves to underscore my motto.... You just never know what you’ll find in a kitchen, you just never know. Zippy, I hope your luck runs better than mine. Happy snacking, Starr
Zippy responds: Starr, I feel your pain. A moment of silence for the lost cheese.

Message: Dear Zippy,
It’s nice to see someone else ever vigilant on the food front besides me! Although I am old enough to be your grandma, I’m still young enough to appreciate your antics and your lust for food. I have quite a few antics still left up my short, short sleeve, and my quest for food, any food, is ceaseless. (Should my dearly beloved owners be held captive over a cliff and I had the choice between saving their lives or eating a burnt piece of English Muffin crust, we all know which I’d choose. Sorry, it’s just that important.)
Well, I’m delighted to have discovered your site accidentally, and have passed it around to my other dog friends. I will keep in touch.
And I believe it would behoove me to start a journal of my own, although I think the only thing I would really want to write about would be the food finds for the day. It’s really all that matters (even though nap time has evolved into a more important role in my life than in previous years.)
I hope there is some meat somewhere on the kitchen floor right now. Must check.
Love, Starr

Zippy, does Daisy share your dislike of costumes? I wish my mom did! She wants to make me a Hedgie costume for a Corgi Fair. I say Hedgies are for playing! My mom’s not completely hopeless, ’though. She’s also making me something called a “cheese muzzle,” that she read about on Corgi-L. She says it might help when I have to go to the vet and get my heartworm test done (Yipes!!! Don’t touch my feet!!!). I’m looking forward to the squeezy cheesy goodness, but am not so sure about the rest of it. Anyhoo...! Have a happy spring, Zippy and Daisy! Best wishes and corgi kisses, Andy p.s. my folks say that you are The Cutest Dogs Ever! (Hey! Oh, okay. They say I am also The Cutest Dog Ever, too!)

Message: Hey Zippy, Enjoyed your website!... Lots to like..I’m a 13 year old male PWC, with a bit of a weight problem, (I am VERY food motivated, what can I say?). At the risk of ratting out my human “Mom”, she likes her snacks too! No doubt this is why we get along so well! “Mom” adopted me when I was about 5 years old, as my first “parents” were divorcing. I’ve loved being the “only dog” here with mom, as I get extra attention, and , as you probably have guessed, I’m quite spoiled... You seem like a great Corgi Zippy! Keep up the great work on your website! Best Wishes, Texas Ranger.

Message: Dear Zippy, My name is Archie and I like in Iowa City, Iowa. I am red and white and will be 2 years old in May. I see from your spy cam photos it appears that you have a few squeek toys. Aren’t squeekers the best! I get the super squeekers and have a great time playing fetch and chase. Hope you have a great summer. Your friend, Archie
From: Addy
Message: Hi Zippy! My folks rescued me from the nearby shelter! As a fellow corgi (I’m a Pembroke), I enjoy the three “F’s” of life: food, furniture, and fun! I also get the luxury of sleeping on my parents bed and having full run of the house and yard! My favorite activies are spinning around the yard (it confuses my folks though!), going on walks, and lounging on the couch (or bed) with my feet behind me in a “flying frog” position or on my back! Anyway, I’ll see you around!

Message: Dear Zippy, What are your thoughts of the mental stability of dog owners who would actually communicate like they are a dog...to a dog...via the internet?!? Is it some sort of thought control that we Corgis have over our owners?

She pretty much runs things down at my grandparents desert compound when she’s there, no matter how big or small the dogs are! Message: Hi Zippy, I am writing to let you know that I have accomplished a major milestone in my home. I have graduated from my crate at night to my folk’s bed! This has made it so much easier to lounge on my back (typical corgi sleeping habit). Beware! 2:00 A.M. is not a good time to get out the squeak toys! Miss Madison Shae from New Castle PA
Zippy responds: Madison, sssshh! You’re making my folks want a puppy!
From: Pete and Betty Ann
Hometown: McKinney TX
Message: Hey, Zip. Please let Joannemarie know that one of us (Pete) was a 4 year old Corgi when our kitty moved in so he doesn’t just adore the cat. Kitty lived here before Betty Ann was born so they get along very well. Betty Ann’s first Mom Tammy (some call her a breeder) had a cat around so Betty was used to kitties. Pete and Kitty avoid one another most of the time but Betty will snuggle and nap with her.

Message: I was thinking about getting a corgi for my seven and a half year old and myself. How do you feel about cats?
Zippy responds: Hi, Joannemarie, I was swatted across the nose by a cat when I was a baby puppy, so I don’t much care for them, but some of my bretheren are quite fond of the feline persuasion. Go figure. Good luck!

Message: Hi, Zippy! The weather here in Northern California has become cold and rainy all of a sudden, so the command for my fur to abandon ship has been rescinded*. I can relate to the way you put your head under the food as it’s on its way into your bowl. It makes perfect sense, since your folks never feed you. My folks never feed me, either. And they never fill my water dish! That’s why I try to drink the water from the pitcher while one of my folks is pouring the water into my bowl. It makes a mess, believe me. Ah, folks. You can’t live with ’em, you can’t live without ’em. REHOP [rolling eyes, head on paws] I hope you’re not too cold and wet! Keep those feet dry. Cheers, Benny Gooddog (aka Benjamin Barker, the demon puppy of Fleet Street) *I have a good vocabulary, thanks to my folks.

The other one is a senior in high school and she is really cool with squeak toys. I will do anything to agitate her (like stealing her makeup and socks) She once dropped a $50 dollar bill on the floor, I scarfed it up and took it behind the couch. Message: I love your website. I had to keep my sweet little Corgi, Teagan, from seeing it. She gets ideas easy. Corgi’s should never share information.
