Message: We have a four month old pembrook named Scout. Is there any games, or toys that you can recommend? Thanks Zippy Russ and Scout
Zippy responds: My favorite toy in the world is the rubber ball that holds a cookie. Fill it with canned food, a cookie or a Snausage, and I am a happy dog. And anything you can throw. I don't know if “love and attention” qualifies as an activity, but if it did, it would come highly recommended. Agility training is fun. And that rubber ball that holds a cookie. Yeah.

Message: Zippy, Dexter and Meg the corgis here. We just wanted to tell you that we have big squirrels in our yard too. If they appear to be dangerous, just bark them from inside. This tells your people that you are brave, and the squirrel that he’d better be scared. That is, until your people put you outside because you bark too much.

Message: Hi! Zipster! I just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas and ask about that Roomba thing. My Mom is getting one and I don’t know how easy they are to out-run. I’m thinking it might get some of the crumbs that are mine, and I don’t like that idea! Take care, and give my love to Daisy and your folks.
Zippy responds: Do not worry about the Roomba stealing your crumbs. If you are half the dog I think you are, you will be able to outrun it. You also have one very important advantage over any vacuum: A superior sniffer and that built-in treat radar. Good luck!

Message: Hello Zippy! I’m afraid I have some rather bad news for you, so you should sit down. Are you sitting? Okay, here goes: Your brother, Finney (from Ralph and Violet), has passed away. You may remember him as Chuck, or maybe you don’t remember him at all as the two of you haven’t seen or spoken to each other in over 14 years. Finney’s people miss him very much, and if Finney was here he’d tell me to pass along his love. When you get to Rainbow Bridge, many years from now, keep an eye out for Finney because you two have a lot to catch up on. Take care, Zippy.
Zippy responds: Ah, Finney, sorry to hear of his passing. I do remember my brothers and sister, especially &Chuck. On the day my folks came to visit our litter for the first time, we were all allowed out to explore Kathy’s back yard. What a time we had. It was scary being out in the world for the first time, but we had each other, so we were brave. Then we realized it was pretty fun and we carried sticks in our mouths. Those were the days. Frap on, Finney.

Message: Hi Zippy! We had two Corgi’s when I was a boy; a tri-color female named Cawnye (pronounced "Connie") and a redish male named Joe-Joe. We loved our doggies very much for many years. When Cawnye was about 9, she was playing in front of the house, ran into the street and was hit by a passing motor-cycle. :(* She didn’t make it. Joe-Joe sort of stopped eating and passed away a very short time later... he must have missed Cawnye very, very much!!! I hope you always look both ways before crossing the street and always watch out for those things with wheels. Since Cawnye and Joe-Joe, our family members have had dozens of Corgi’s, but there will never be another Cawnye and Joe-Joe! Love your website Zippy! Live long and prosper. ;)

Message: Howdy from the Tarheel State, Zippy! My name is Coffee and I’m a German shepherd mix, and my person says I’m The Best Dog Ever. I saw how you feel about couch pillows. There’s a bed pillow that I have to watch out for. It has evil intentions. It takes valuable bed space awayfrom me, even though I’m too big to sleep in the bed any more. I just turned a year old last week, and my person had a very special meal for me. Aren’t birthdays great? I can’t wait until the next one!

Message: Zippy, Arlo and I just love your website. Your journal is great. Read through it all and find myself checking back often to see what is going on in your life. Arlo is thinking about starting an online journal as well, but Corgi paws just dont fit very well on a human keyboard. I tried to talk him into using his nose, but warm and wet doesnt work real well with keyboards either. I was wondring if you might want to start up a mailing list for when you update your site? if you and your people are ever in Memphis, please look us up. Message: Hi Zippy,
I just went on vacation and my grandmother watched our Prembroke Welsh Corgi whose name is Tess. Tessi is pretty long for even a corgi. While we were away Tessi bruised her spinal cord and was paralized from the waist down. She couldn't walk and my grandma had to carry her everywhere. They took her to the emergency room and the next day my grandma had to hold up her back legs with a towel so the she could go to the bathroom. Now tessi vcan walk and is going to be okay but the point of my story is to be careful with their backs because tey are so long and very fragile. Thanks for letting me share,
